FAUSTINA IPLs

Over the past 27 years, IPL technologies have undergone substantial evolution since their inception in the medical community. Demonstrating both safety and efficacy, IPLs are now utilized for cosmetically treating various vascular lesions, unwanted hair, and pigmented lesions. Recent advancements in IPL technology have shown outcomes comparable to laser treatments. From a scientific standpoint, these innovations leverage intense pulses of broad-spectrum light to selectively target chromophores in tissues, leading to photothermic and photochemical effects. This selective absorption allows for precise treatment, making IPL an increasingly versatile and powerful tool in cosmetic dermatology.

How soon can results be seen with IPL hair removal?

It all depends on the area you are treating, hormonal growth, lifestyle, and medication. Leg treatments work great, and you’ll see a much faster reduction within six to nine treatments – Within a year to a year and a half, you’ll see a very good reduction in another area. Faces do take a lot longer to treat. The reason for this is the fact that the human face is very hormonal – in one square centimeter, there are nearly five hundred hair follicles. Some of them are inactive. A new hair follicle will become active and you’ll start seeing that hair growth coming back again.

Repeat the treatment every 4 to 6 weeks, this will keep your hair root inactive and prevent hair from growing back. When you continue to use IPL, you will see permanent results from the third month of treatment. This does NOT mean you will be hair free after three months — Only that you will start noticing that a lot of your body hair is not growing back. You can shave between IPL sessions, avoid plucking and waxing right after your treatments. Shaving is your new favourite hair removal method — Anything else will pull hair from its follicles and hinder the IPL process, which you don’t want.

If hair grows back between treatments, simply shorten the treatment interval, but do not treat it more often than once every 2 weeks, as this will only increase the risk of skin irritation.

How does FAUSTINA IPL stimulate collagen production?

The FAUSTINA 3-IN-1, featuring the Skin Rejuvenation lamp IPL, operates through the strategic utilization of a selective range of wavelengths. As the pulsed light traverses the epidermal layers, it delves into the deeper layers of the skin, inducing a controlled disruption in pigment. This initiated damage prompts the skin’s innate defence mechanisms into action. The physiological response involves the orchestrated removal of the damaged melanin, accompanied by a cascade of events that trigger fibroblasts to orchestrate the synthesis of new collagen and the tightening of elastin fibres.

At a more granular level, the selective absorption of light energy by melanin and other chromophores induces a photochemical and photothermal response. This response not only facilitates the breakdown and removal of damaged pigmentation but also stimulates cellular processes that contribute to collagenesis. The activated fibroblasts play a pivotal role in the synthesis of collagen, the structural protein responsible for skin firmness and elasticity. Concurrently, the tightened elastin fibres contribute to an overall improvement in skin texture and appearance.

In essence, the FAUSTINA IPL device engages a scientifically nuanced process, harnessing light energy to instigate controlled damage that, in turn, triggers the body’s natural reparative mechanisms, fostering the regeneration of collagen and elastin for a visibly firmer, thicker, and more youthful complexion.

FAQS

Before you Use FAUSTINA 3IN1 IPL

How does the FAUSTINA IPL hair removal device work?

IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, hair removal devices work based on the principle of selective photothermolysis. Here’s a simplified explanation of how FAUSTINA IPL hair removal works:

1. Selective Absorption: The FAUSTINA IPL device emits broad-spectrum light pulses that target the melanin (pigment) in the hair shaft and follicle. Melanin absorbs the light energy, converting it into heat.

2. Heat Generation: The absorbed light energy transforms into heat, which then damages the hair follicle. The goal is to selectively damage the follicle while minimizing damage to the surrounding skin.

3. Follicle Disruption: The heat generated by the absorbed light energy damages the hair follicle’s cells responsible for hair growth. This process disrupts the follicle’s ability to grow new hair.

4. Hair Shedding: Over the next few days or weeks, the treated hair falls out as the damaged follicles stop producing new hair.

5. Repeat Sessions: Since hair grows in cycles and not all hairs are in the same phase at once, multiple IPL sessions are usually required to target hair in different growth stages effectively.

How does the Faustina IPL device work on brown spots?

The FAUSTINA IPL device works on facial brown spots through a process known as selective photothermolysis. Here’s a breakdown of how it addresses brown spots or pigmented lesions:

1. Selective Absorption: The FAUSTINA IPL device emits a spectrum of intense pulsed light. The melanin, or pigment, in the brown spots, selectively absorbs this light energy.

2. Heat Generation: The absorbed light energy is converted into heat. This heat targets and damages the pigmented cells responsible for the brown spots, while minimizing impact on the surrounding healthy skin.

3. Photothermal Reaction: The heat generated induces a photothermal reaction within the targeted cells. This reaction leads to the controlled destruction of the pigmented cells, breaking down the excess melanin.

4. Natural Removal Process: The body’s natural healing processes come into play. The damaged pigmented cells are gradually eliminated by the body’s immune system and are naturally shed from the skin surface.

5. Collagen Stimulation: In addition to addressing pigmented lesions, the heat generated by the FAUSTINA IPL device can stimulate the production of collagen in the skin. This collagen stimulation contributes to overall skin rejuvenation, potentially reducing the appearance of fine lines and promoting a more even skin tone.

How does Faustina IPL get rid of broken capillaries on the face?

The FAUSTINA IPL device is designed to address broken capillaries on the face through a process called selective photothermolysis. Here’s an overview of how it works:

1. Selective Absorption: FAUSTINA IPL emits a range of intense pulsed light that is selectively absorbed by the haemoglobin in the blood vessels causing the broken capillaries.

2. Heat Generation: As the absorbed light energy is converted into heat, it targets the haemoglobin in the blood vessels. The heat causes coagulation and thermal damage to the walls of the broken capillaries.

3. Photocoagulation: The heat-induced damage prompts the body to initiate a natural coagulation process, essentially sealing off the broken capillaries. This process helps to eliminate or reduce the appearance of broken capillaries on the skin’s surface.

4. Body’s Natural Healing: The damaged blood vessels are gradually absorbed by the body’s natural healing mechanisms. The immune system plays a role in clearing away the treated vessels, leading to a reduction in visible broken capillaries.

5. Collagen Stimulation: The heat generated by the FAUSTINA IPL device may also stimulate the production of collagen in the surrounding skin. Collagen is a structural protein that provides support to blood vessels and contributes to overall skin firmness and elasticity.

Can Faustina IPL Effectively Treat Acne, and How Does it Work?

The Faustina IPL device, specifically with the Acne Clearance lamp, is designed to help address acne by utilizing light-based technology.

1. Selective Photothermolysis:
– The Acne Treatment lamp emits light within a specific wavelength range (400 to 700 nanometers) that is absorbed by porphyrins, which are molecules produced by acne-causing bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes).

2. Bacterial Destruction:
– When the light is absorbed by the porphyrins, it generates heat, leading to the destruction of the acne-causing bacteria. This can help reduce the number of bacteria present on the skin.

3. Reduction in Inflammation:
– The heat produced during the IPL treatment may also contribute to a reduction in inflammation associated with acne lesions.

4. Mild Improvement in Skin Texture:
– IPL treatments may have a mild skin-rejuvenating effect, contributing to improved skin texture over time.

5. Multiple Sessions for Optimal Results:
– Achieving optimal results typically requires a series of treatments. The frequency and number of sessions may vary based on individual skin characteristics and the severity of the acne.

Will Faustina improve facial pores?

FAUSTINA IPL works to remove the excess oil and dead skin cells that clog pores and contribute to breakouts, the continued treatments will help you to have smaller pores, smoother skin, and a younger and more vibrant appearance.

Here’s how:

1. Collagen Stimulation: The heat generated by the FAUSTINA IPL device during treatment may stimulate collagen production in the skin. Collagen is a crucial protein that provides structural support to the skin. As collagen production increases, it can contribute to improved skin texture and elasticity, potentially reducing the appearance of enlarged pores.

2. Overall Skin Rejuvenation: The photothermal effects of IPL treatments can promote overall skin rejuvenation. This process may result in a more even skin tone and texture, which could indirectly contribute to the perception of smaller pores.

3. Oil and Sebum Regulation: Some individuals may experience a reduction in excess oil production after IPL treatments. If your enlarged pores are associated with excessive oiliness, controlling sebum production could lead to a subtle improvement in pore size.

It’s important to note that while there may be some positive effects on facial pores, the primary focus of FAUSTINA IPL works to remove the excess oil and dead skin cells that clog pores and contribute to breakouts, the continued treatments will help you to have smaller pores, smoother skin, and a younger and more vibrant appearance.

FAUSTINA devices are often on specific concerns like pigmentation and vascular issues. Additionally, individual responses to IPL treatments can vary, and the degree of improvement in pore size may be modest.

If your primary goal is to address enlarged pores, other skincare treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or specific topical products may be more directly targeted at this concern. Consulting with a skin care professional can help determine the most suitable approach based on your individual skin needs and concerns

Can I use IPL during pregnancy?

It is generally recommended to avoid using IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) devices, including FAUSTINA IPL, during pregnancy. While there is no conclusive evidence suggesting that IPL treatments pose a significant risk to pregnant individuals, the impact of intense light on the developing fetus has not been thoroughly studied.

Pregnancy is a time when caution is advised regarding various cosmetic treatments and procedures. Hormonal changes during pregnancy can affect the skin’s sensitivity, and the safety of using IPL devices during this period is not well-established. Additionally, the potential for increased pigmentation or changes in skin sensitivity during pregnancy may affect the device’s effectiveness and safety.

To ensure the well-being of both the pregnant individual and the developing fetus, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional, such as an obstetrician or dermatologist, before using any IPL device or undergoing cosmetic treatments during pregnancy. They can provide personalized advice based on individual health considerations and guide you on the most appropriate course of action. In many cases, it is recommended to postpone such treatments until after pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Can I use IPL device during menstruation?

While there is generally no direct evidence suggesting that using an IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) device like FAUSTINA during menstruation is harmful, some individuals may experience heightened skin sensitivity or discomfort during this time. Hormonal fluctuations during the menstrual cycle can affect skin sensitivity, and some people may find that their skin is more sensitive or reactive during menstruation.

If you are considering using the FAUSTINA IPL device during your menstrual cycle, it is advisable to proceed with caution and be attentive to how your skin responds. Some individuals may not experience any issues, while others may find their skin more prone to discomfort or irritation.

Before using the device during menstruation, consider the following precautions:

Will the flashing light hurt my eyes?

The safety system in our products has been developed in the device, rendering flashing light harmless to your eyes. Use the device in a well-lit room so that the light is less glaring to your eyes. It is not needed to wear goggles during use. Never use IPL in the area around your eyes or for treating your eyebrows. This is the only thing you should remember.

How to prepare the skin before IPL treatment?

You should pre-treat your skin by removing hair off of the surface of your skin the same day of treatment or the day before.

For best results, we recommend that you don’t do any form of waxing, plucking, bleaching, and electrolysis treatments. Shaving is your new favorite hair removal method before and between the treatments; anything else pulls hair from the follicle and hinders the IPL process, which you don’t want. If hair grows back between treatments, simply shorten the treatment interval, but do not treat more often than once every 2 weeks, as this will only increase the risk of skin irritation.

Is the procedure painful?

The sensation is very mild and easily tolerated. It’s painless. Any discomfort will dissipate within a few minutes of treatment.

Can I share my IPL device with family members?

Of course – Just make sure you clean the lamp of the device thoroughly.

Will I see quicker results if I use my FAUSTINA IPL device more often?

While it may be tempting to use the FAUSTINA IPL device more frequently in the hope of achieving quicker results, it’s important to follow the recommended guidelines provided by LaboTest Ltd. Overusing the device or exceeding the recommended frequency and intensity settings may not necessarily lead to faster or better results and could potentially cause adverse effects.

Here are some considerations:

1. Recommended Treatment Schedule: LaboTest provides a recommended treatment schedule, which includes the suggested frequency of use and the number of sessions needed for optimal results. Adhering to this schedule is important to allow the skin to recover between sessions and to achieve the desired outcome.

2. Skin’s Natural Hair Growth Cycle: Hair grows in cycles, and IPL devices are most effective when targeting hair in the active growth phase. Using the device too frequently may not necessarily impact hair in different growth stages. It’s essential to follow the recommended schedule to target hair at various stages of the growth cycle.

3. Potential for Skin Irritation: Using the IPL device more often than recommended may increase the risk of skin irritation, redness, or discomfort. Following the proper intervals allows the skin to recover and reduces the likelihood of adverse reactions.

4. Intensity Settings: The FAUSTINA IPL device provides different intensity settings (power levels) measured in joules per square centimetre (J/cm²). Using higher-intensity settings may not necessarily lead to quicker results and could increase the risk of skin irritation. It’s advisable to start with lower intensity levels and gradually increase as tolerated.

5. Patience and Consistency: Hair removal, facial brown spots, facial broken capillaries, Skin rejuvenation, Acne treatment, Wrinkle reduction, Pigmentation reduction, and Rosacea treatment are using a gradual process, and optimal results are achieved with patience and consistency. Follow the recommended treatment plan and be consistent with sessions to see the best outcomes over time.

Can I use my device on moles or freckles?

Using an IPL on moles or freckles is generally not recommended. IPL devices work by targeting the pigment (melanin) in hair follicles or specific skin concerns, and they can inadvertently target the pigment in moles and freckles as well.

1. Moles: Moles are typically areas where pigment-producing cells (melanocytes) are concentrated. Using an IPL device on moles may cause uneven pigmentation, irritation, or even damage to the mole. Moreover, it’s important to monitor moles for any changes in size, shape, color, or texture, and using IPL on moles could potentially interfere with the assessment of these changes.

2. Freckles: Freckles vary in size and pigmentation, and using an IPL device on freckles may result in uneven outcomes. The device may affect the melanin in the freckle, leading to changes in pigmentation including hyperpigmentation (darkening) or hypopigmentation (lightening) of the treated area. This can be challenging because freckles contribute to the natural and unique character of an individual’s skin.

Can IPL tighten the skin on my neck?

Yes, the FAUSTINA IPL device, particularly when equipped with a Skin Rejuvenation lamp, may contribute to skin tightening on the neck. The process involves stimulating collagen production, which is a key protein responsible for the firmness and elasticity of the skin.

Here’s how the FAUSTINA IPL device may assist in skin tightening on the neck:

1. Selective Wavelengths: The Skin Rejuvenation lamp in the FAUSTINA IPL device emits light in specific wavelengths, typically ranging from 560 to 1100nm. This range is designed to penetrate the skin and target various concerns, including stimulating collagen production.

2. Collagen Stimulation: When the pulsed light penetrates the skin, it generates heat, stimulating fibroblasts—a type of skin cell—to produce new collagen. Collagen is essential for maintaining the structural integrity and tightness of the skin.

3. Elastin Fiber Tightening: In addition to collagen stimulation, the heat generated by the FAUSTINA IPL device can contribute to the tightening of elastin fibres in the skin. Elastin is another protein that provides elasticity and resilience to the skin.

4. Firmness and Youthful Appearance: By promoting collagen production and enhancing the elasticity of the skin, the FAUSTINA IPL device may help improve the firmness and overall appearance of the skin on the neck. This can potentially reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The effectiveness of the treatment depends on factors such as skin type, age, and the degree of skin laxity. It’s important to note that results can vary among individuals, and a series of treatments may be needed to achieve optimal outcomes.

Does IPL impact my health in any way and is it safe for my skin?

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments, when used as directed and following safety guidelines, are generally considered safe for the skin. However, like any cosmetic procedure, there are factors to consider, and individual responses may vary. Here are some key points to keep in mind:

Safety Considerations:

1. Eye Protection: It’s crucial to use our eye goggles in the box, during IPL treatments to shield your eyes from the intense light.

2. Skin Sensitivity: Individuals with certain skin conditions, such as active infections, open wounds, or a history of keloid scarring, may be advised against IPL treatments.

3. Sun Exposure: Avoiding direct sun exposure before and after IPL treatments is important. Sunburned or tanned skin can be more susceptible to adverse effects.

4. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: While the impact of IPL on pregnancy is not fully studied, it is often recommended to avoid IPL treatments during pregnancy and breastfeeding as a precaution.

5. Consultation with Professionals: If you have specific health concerns, or skin conditions, or are taking medications, it’s advisable to consult with a dermatologist or healthcare professional before undergoing IPL treatments.

Skin Reactions:

1. Temporary Redness: Mild redness is a common and temporary reaction to IPL treatments. This usually subsides within a few hours to a day.

2. Pigmentation Changes: In some cases, pigmented lesions may darken temporarily before gradually fading. Conversely, darker pigmentation may lighten over time.

3. Discomfort: During the treatment, you may feel a warm or tingling sensation, but it is generally mild and well-tolerated by most individuals.

Would this be effective in treating hyperpigmentation caused by melasma?

Melasma is a common skin condition characterized by the development of dark, irregular patches on the face, particularly on areas that are frequently exposed to the sun.

Here’s how FAUSTINA IPL can potentially be effective in treating melasma:

1. Targeting Pigmentation: FAUSTINA IPL devices work by emitting pulses of broad-spectrum light that target melanin (pigment) in the skin. This can help break down hyperpigmented areas associated with melasma.

2. Selective Photothermolysis: The process involves selective photothermolysis, where the light energy is absorbed by the melanin in the pigmented lesions, leading to the breakdown of melanin and the gradual improvement of pigmentation irregularities.

3. Stimulating Collagen: Additionally, the heat generated during treatments may stimulate collagen production in the skin. This can contribute to overall skin rejuvenation and may improve the texture and appearance of melasma-affected areas.

The effectiveness of IPL treatments for melasma can vary from person to person. Some individuals may experience significant improvement, while others may see more modest results. Melasma is often a chronic condition, and maintenance treatments may be necessary to sustain results. Additionally, sun protection measures are crucial to prevent the recurrence of pigmentation.

What is the difference between Stamp mode and Glide mode?

The device has two application modes: Stamp mode and Glide mode. Stamp mode is for small and bony areas that are more difficult to treat (e.g. knees, armpits). Place the appliance on the skin, just press and flash, then move your hand to the next close area which should be treated.

Glide mode is to treat larger areas (e.g. legs). Place the appliance against your skin, while holding the flash button pressed throughout the application – just slide the appliance and it will flash as you go. This makes the treatment of large areas easier and faster.

What results can I expect?

If your treatments are consistent, you will achieve long-lasting, smooth and hair-free skin. Just bear in mind that it will take multiple treatments in order for you to start seeing results – it takes time. This is because our hair follicles are on their own individual growth cycles. But we promise you will see the remarkable results which bring a smile to your face.

Is IPL suitable for all skin and hair types?

IPL is usually not suitable for darker skin tones, because there is much more melanin in the skin that the light will target and heat up. This causes pain and can damage your skin. This device has built-in touch and skin tone tester & adjustable flash-strength, adaptable to your skin type.

The darker your hair colour, the better, because dark hair has lots of dark melanin pigment. It’s this that the light targets and heats it up to damage the follicle to stop hair growth. Since blonde, grey and white hairs do not contain any or enough melanin, IPL treatments will never work on these hair colours. Red hair contains a different type of melanin which is not responsive to IPL.

Should I remove facial hair before using IPL?

As with the body, it is important when using IPL that the light energy is channelled into the hair follicles on your body in the most efficient way. This can be done by shaving..

1. Shave the Treatment Area: It is advised to shave the treatment area before using the IPL device. Shaving removes the visible hair on the surface while leaving the hair follicle beneath the skin intact. This allows the IPL light to target the melanin in the hair follicle during the treatment.

2. Avoid Waxing or Plucking: Do not wax or pluck the hairs in the treatment area before using your IPL. The device needs the hair follicle to be present for the treatment to be effective.

3. Clean and Dry Skin: Ensure that the skin in the treatment area is clean and dry before using the IPL device. Avoid applying lotions, creams, or makeup in the treatment area.

4. Follow User Manual Instructions: Always follow the specific instructions provided in the user manual of the FAUSTINA IPL device. The manual will guide you on preparing the skin and using the device for optimal results and safety.

Can FAUSTINA 3IN1 be used if you have metal plates?

FAUSTINA 3IN1IPL reaches to the deep dermis and the superficial subcutaneous fat layer. It won’t penetrate deep enough to affect or cause pain or problems with any metal in your body (e.g. metal screws are usually deeper than that, at the bony structures under the muscle..) It is safe to use FAUSTINA 3IN1done in your legs, arms, or even metal plates in the chest…

Will FAUSTINA 3IN1 work on light hair and light skin tones?

Yes, you can use it for light skin tones, but unfortunately, IPL does not work for all hair colours and skin tones. It’s important to note that if you have red/ginger, grey/white, or white-blonde hair, IPL will not work for you.
Hair removal IPL works by targeting the melanin inside the root of your hair, which all 3 of these hair colours lack — effectively rendering the technology useless.
But despair not!
You can still use FAUSTINA 3IN1 for other purposes, such as skin rejuvenation, rough, ageing skin, dim skin, big pores, wrinkles, lack of elasticity, radiance, broken capillaries and acne reduction! FAUSTINA 3IN1 has proven itself to be very effective in these domains.

is FAUSTINA 3IN1 safe to use for rejuvenating skin on medium dark skin.

The best way is to choose a small area close to the area you intend to treat, for the purpose of performing a skin sensitivity test.
Use the lowest FAUSTINA 3IN1 level (1). Follow the treatment instructions below, but make sure to emit only 2-3 shots. After the skin test, wait for about 60 minutes and check your skin for any reactions.
If after 60 minutes the skin appears normal and there is no redness or other skin reaction, then you are ready to perform a full treatment and gradually increase the energy level from (1) to (2).
If there isn’t any intolerable pain or reaction of any kind, you can feel free to gradually increase the energy.

Is this safe to use on brown spots under your eyes near your eye socket?

The use of IPL devices near the eyes is not recommended as the intense pulsed light they emit can cause damage to the eye. To prevent any harm, it’s essential to always use the UV protection glasses provided with the FAUSTINA IPL box during treatment and avoid looking directly at the light or flashes for extended periods of time.

How many joules is FAUSTINA 3IN1 and can it get rid of broken capillaries?

The FAUSTINA 3IN1 IPL device operates with a power range of 3.5 to 5.1 joules per square centimeter (J/cm²), utilizing 19.89 joules for the lamp window. This places FAUSTINA 3IN1 at the forefront of similar IPL devices available in the market.

For the treatment of broken capillaries, the Skin Rejuvenation (SR) lamp, included with FAUSTINA 3IN1, can be used. The mechanism involves applying light energy to the skin, which is readily absorbed by blood vessels. This process heats the vessels to a point where they are destroyed. Following the treatment, the vessels are quickly cleared as they are reabsorbed by the body, often leaving little or no trace of the original lesion.

While some small capillaries and veins may disappear suddenly, a full course of treatment typically requires 6-9 sessions, spaced one week apart. After the treatment, some capillaries and veins may appear more visible, indicating that they have been destroyed. These will gradually disappear within a few weeks.

FAUSTINA 3IN1 offers flexibility with 5 energy levels to accommodate various treatments, including those targeting rough and aging skin, uneven skin tone, large pores, wrinkles, lack of elasticity, and radiance. Users can gradually increase the energy level from one to five, monitoring for any intolerable pain or adverse reactions.

It shouldn’t be used near the eyes. For men, we don’t advise to use on the beards. The use of male beards may lead to uneven results.

With FAUSTINA IPL you can use Skin rejuvenation and Acne Clearance lamps to reverse sun damage, treat vascular lesions, wrinkles reduction, improve facial contour, tighten pores, boost collagen and elastin production, tighten skin, reduce the appearance of sunspots, freckles, reduce the severity of acne, inflamed skin, and sebum excretion.

Has anyone had success using FAUSTINA 3IN1 IPL to get rid of facial veins?

Facial spider veins are common and are caused by genetics, too much alcohol, acne, rosacea, and sun over-exposure. Many people successfully treated, but the best results are on pale skin with bright spider veins.

You can use the SR lamp attached with FAUSTINA 3IN1 for this purpose…

Some small capillaries and veins disappear suddenly. However, 6-9 treatments are needed, one treatment every week. Some capillaries and veins are more visible after the treatment which is a sign that they are destroyed and they will disappear within a few weeks.

There are 5 energy levels to adapt to a wide range of different treatments (rough and ageing skin, dim skin, big pores, wrinkles, lack of elasticity and radiance). You can gradually increase the energy level from one to five If there isn’t any intolerable pain or reaction of any kind.

What is the difference or wavelength of the hair removal vs skin rejuvenation and acne clearance FAUSINA 3IN1 lamp

The wavelength for FAUSTINA 3in1 lamps is as follows:
Hair Removal: 530 ~ 1100nm
Skin rejuvenation: 560 ~ 1100nm
Acne treatment: 400 ~ 700 nm.
Power: 3.5 – 5.1 j/cm²

Besides the wavelengths and energy flow j/cm², there are many factors to more selectively target desired cellular or structural elements including pulse sequences, pulse duration, pulse delay time, and filtration which is used for each treatment.

How does the Faustina IPL device get rid of brown spots on your face?

The Faustina IPL device is designed to target and reduce the appearance of brown spots on the face through a process known as IPL photorejuvenation or IPL skin rejuvenation. Here’s an explanation of how the device works for this purpose:

1. Selective Photothermolysis: The Faustina IPL device utilizes a selective range of wavelengths of light, in the visible and near-infrared spectrum. These wavelengths are absorbed by the pigmented cells responsible for brown spots, such as melanin.

2. Penetration and Absorption: When the pulsed light is applied to the skin, it penetrates the epidermis and is selectively absorbed by the melanin in the brown spots. This targeted absorption leads to the generation of heat within the pigmented cells.

3. Damage to Pigmented Cells: The heat generated during the absorption process causes damage to the pigmented cells containing melanin. This damage prompts the body’s natural healing response.

4. Natural Healing Process: The immediate endpoint from IPL treatment of dyschromia should be visible darkening of the treated brown spots. These typically crust over 24 to 48 hours and peel off within seven days. The skin’s natural healing processes contribute to a more even skin tone. the body works to remove the damaged melanin, leading to a gradual lightening or reduction of the brown spots. To enhance the exfoliation process, applying a moisturizer twice a day following treatment is recommended. Alternatively, microdermabrasion of the treated area 1 to 2 days after the IPL treatment can expedite the exfoliation process.

5. Stimulating Collagen Production: In addition to targeting pigmented cells, IPL treatments may stimulate collagen production in the skin. Collagen is a protein that provides structure and elasticity to the skin. This stimulation contributes to overall skin rejuvenation and can improve the texture and tone of the treated area.

It’s important to note that multiple sessions may be required for optimal results, and individual responses can vary. Additionally, proper sun protection is crucial before and after IPL treatments to prevent further pigmentation and enhance the effectiveness of the procedure.

What is the application of light-based technology for hair removal?

Light-based technology for hair removal typically involves the use of lasers or intense pulsed light (IPL) to target and reduce unwanted hair. This approach is known as laser hair removal or IPL hair removal, and it has become a popular and effective method for achieving long-term hair removal.

1. Selective Photothermolysis:
– The fundamental principle behind light-based hair removal is selective photothermolysis. This process involves using specific wavelengths of light that are absorbed by the melanin (pigment) in the hair follicles.

2. Absorption by Melanin:
– The melanin in the hair follicles absorbs the light energy, which is then converted into heat. This heat damages the hair follicles, inhibiting their ability to grow new hair.

3. Targeting Hair in Anagen Phase:
– Hair grows in different phases, with the anagen (active growth) phase being the most responsive to light-based treatments. Light-based technology targets hair in the anagen phase, and multiple sessions are typically required to capture hair in this growth stage.

4. Long-Term Hair Reduction:
– After a series of treatments, many individuals experience a significant reduction in hair growth, and the remaining hair is often finer and lighter.

5. Treatment Areas:
– Light-based technology is commonly used for hair removal on various body areas, including the face, legs, arms, underarms, bikini line, and other areas where unwanted hair is a concern.

6. Professional and At-Home Devices:
– The treatment methods and results for hair removal are the same. We’ve adapted the technology in our products for safe and effective use at home.

7. Skin Safety Measures:
– To ensure the safety of the skin, our devices come with adjustable settings to accommodate different skin tones and hair colors.

8. Maintenance Treatments:
– While significant hair reduction can be achieved, maintenance treatments may be necessary over time to address any regrowth.

Can you compare the FAUSTINA 3IN1 IPL device with other big machines that are used in clinics?

The FAUSTINA IPL devices operate within a high power range, distinguishing them from other at-home IPL devices in the market. The intensity levels are carefully calibrated to prioritize safety for personal use. In contrast, Clinic Machines typically boast higher intensity levels and more potent light sources, allowing for enhanced precision and customization in terms of settings. While Clinic Machines cater to professional settings, the FAUSTINA IPL devices are intentionally designed for user-friendly operation, featuring pre-set settings that strike a balance between safety and effectiveness.

For how long should you stop using topical skin treatments (i.e. Retin A, Vitamin B, or AHA) prior to using my FAUSTINA IPL for skin rejuvenation?

Before using your FAUSTINA IPL device for skin rejuvenation, it is generally advisable to stop using topical skin treatments, such as Retin A, Vitamin B, or AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid), for a certain period. The specific timeframe can vary depending on the sensitivity of your skin. However, we recommend discontinuing the use of these treatments for approximately one to two weeks before starting IPL sessions.

1. Retin A (Retinoids): Discontinue use for about one to two weeks before treatment.

2. Vitamin B (e.g., Vitamin B3/Niacinamide): Pause usage for approximately one to two weeks before IPL sessions.

3. AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid): Stop using AHA-containing products for about one to two weeks before IPL treatment.

Stopping the use of these products before IPL helps reduce the risk of skin irritation or sensitivity during the treatment. FAUSTINA IPL works by targeting melanin and haemoglobin in the skin, and the presence of certain active ingredients in skincare products can make the skin more sensitive to light.

Should I use a conductive gel?

Your initial response provides a good overview, but let’s enhance it with more details:

No, there is no need for conductive gel when using the FAUSTINA IPL. However, it’s crucial to ensure that your skin is clean and free from any water, creams, and oils before each treatment session. This helps optimize the effectiveness of the IPL treatment by allowing the light to penetrate the skin without any barriers.

After each treatment, it is recommended to apply a soothing cream to help cool down the skin and minimize the potential for skin irritation. Choosing a gentle, hypoallergenic moisturizer can be beneficial in providing relief and maintaining the skin’s hydration.

Remember to follow the specific guidelines outlined in the user manual, as proper skin preparation and aftercare contribute to a more comfortable and effective treatment experience.

Will it also work on the broken capillaries on my legs?

While the Faustina IPL with the Skin Rejuvenation lamp is highly effective in treating facial broken capillaries, its effectiveness may vary when used on the feet and body area due to the differences in skin thickness. The facial skin is thinner compared to the skin on the body, and the treatment outcomes on body areas may not be as pronounced.

For broken capillaries on the legs, especially the feet and ankles, achieving optimal results may require a stronger device with higher energy levels, similar to those used in a physician’s office. It’s important to note that at-home IPL devices are designed with user safety in mind and may have limitations in treating certain body areas.

We recommend consulting with your dermatologist to assess the underlying condition and determine the most suitable mode of treatment for broken capillaries on your legs. A dermatologist can provide personalized advice, consider the specific characteristics of your skin, and recommend appropriate professional treatments if needed.

What is the energy level (or fluence), in J/cm² of each of the 5 levels?

FAUSTINA 3IN1 IPL comes with power levels 1-5 (3.5J/4.0J/4.5J/4.7J/5.1J) / cm² and 3.9 cm ² Spot Size or 19.89 joules for the lamp window. This puts FAUSTINA IPL on top of the similar home-use IPLs in the market.

FAQS

After you Use FAUSTINA 3IN1 IPL

What should I expect after my IPL treatment and what is post-treatment care?

Your skin may be slightly pink or red right after your treatment, and you may experience mild swelling that should subside in a few days.

For the next 24 hours, we advise:
– No hot baths
– No swimming or sunbathing
– No tight clothing
– No application of perfumed products including deodorant, antiperspirant, self-tanner or makeup on the treated area
–No scrubbing or rubbing of the treated area (this can cause a bacterial infection)

Avoid rough sports for 24-48 hours. Hydrate your body by drinking plenty of water.

What about any skin responses?

These are often temporary and will subside within 24 hours after treatment. You can apply aftercare product after treatment to soothe your skin.

Can I use creams or ointments on my skin?

For facial treatment, you will need to make sure your face is clean and free from any water, creams, and oils prior to using IPL. After each and every treatment apply a soothing cream to let the skin cool down and to help avoid any skin irritation.

Can I proceed with other treatments, such as epilation, waxing or tweeting?

No — you should avoid these. Leave the hairs in the follicles for at least 3 days after your treatment. This will help reduce any chances of an opportunistic infection in the damaged follicles. The hair will drop out naturally over the following days and weeks. But note that hair re-growth occurs at different rates in different areas of the body.

What should I keep in mind after using IPL?

Clean your device thoroughly and carefully following the instructions contained in your user manual.

Can I shave Between Treatments?

Yes,  Some hair will grow in between the treatments, and it’s perfectly okay to shave. However, for best results, we recommend that you don’t do any form of waxing, plucking, bleaching, and electrolysis treatments. Shaving is your new favorite hair removal method between the treatments; anything else pulls hair from the follicle and hinders the IPL process, which you don’t want. If hair grows back between treatments, simply shorten the treatment interval, but do not treat more often than once every 2 weeks, as this will only increase the risk of skin irritation.

For skin rejuvenation , its once a week for 8 weeks, and after that how to use it?

It is likely that no further treatments will be needed for several years, especially if you avoiding sunbathing and if you take care of your skin by using sunscreen. Treatment results can last up to three-five years using FAUSTINA 3IN1 IPL, with an option to apply further treatments if you’d like.

Can I treat areas with the Skin rejuvenating lamp and treat the same areas for hair removal lamp on the same day - one treatment after the other?

We don’t recommend treating the same area with a skin rejuvenation lamp and hair removal lamp on the same day. You should leave two or three days between the two treatments.

FAUSTINA RF MODES

A mode for every need…

EMS mode

The EMS (Electrical Muscle stimulation) mode will reach and stimulate your muscle tissue, toning, firming, and strengthening them. It can be used to effectively reduce fat and cellulite, however, if used carefully and following our guidelines, it will not make you lose excessive fat tissue, or create irregularities on the skin. This function will only give you a vibrating feeling and normally does not make any tingling sensation. It can also be applied around the shoulders and used every 3 days.

Red light LED

The RF LED mode combines radio frequency with LED technology, not to be confused with a LED device, the FAUSTINA RF main mechanic is radio frequency, however, this sole mode combines both. The red light LED works by using an array of bright light-emitting diodes that send low-level light energy into the deeper layers of the skin, which stimulates collagen, giving the skin a plump look. This function will give you a vibrating and warmish feeling on the electrode surface, giving your skin a heat and light treatment. It detoxifies, stimulates lymphatic drainage, and improves blood circulation, and can be used every 3 days.

Moisture mode

The Moisture mode works with skin care products and will come after the Cleaning mode. It can be used with face masks, creams, and ointments that are most appropriated to your skin type. The electrode surface vibrates and uses a heat energy that will help your skin absorb nutrients, and this mode can be every 3 days.

Cleaning mode

This mode allows you to clean clogged pores more effectively. It vibrates, and the radio frequency will work with the importation and exportation of ions, which facilitate the movement of the dirty molecules to the surface of your skin to then be removed. Best used with a small cotton pad. This mode can also be used to remove makeup. Should be used 2-3 times per week.

Cooling mode

The Cooling mode is exclusive to the FAUSTINA brand, and cannot be found in any other product in the RF market, making this device special. This function comes at the end of all modes, provides a cold feeling that will help your skin cool down, and shrink your pores, locking moisture and improving overall skin elasticity. Can be used daily.

All modes should be used for about 3 minutes. When a mode finishes the FAUSTINA RF will automatically pass to the next mode, and on the last mode will switch to standby and will turn off automatically.
